We are a simple church.
We meet anywhere and at anytime to cultivate relationships within a smaller group. Together, we’re mission-focused, training all to make disciples and flourish in our God-given calling.
Mission/Vision
CityVine Church is committed to sharing the gospel with everyone, nurturing Christ-centered relationships, and cultivating simple groups across Greater Orlando to see every one embody the church by engaging in the Great Commission wherever we go.
-
Any activity that embodies Christ’s Church in everyday spaces (homes, offices, gyms, parks, etc.) to help our community find hope, peace, and purpose in their lives with Jesus.
-
One-on-one or one-on-few relationships to genuinely connect, meet spiritual and physical needs, and hold each other accountable to following Christ.
-
We are a simple church comprised of simple groups that connect with an emphasis on following Jesus, not a church experience.
-
The church is made up of people who actively engage the Great Commission on a daily basis. By embodying the church and making disciples wherever we go, we fulfill our calling and extend God's love to the world around us.
Simple Church Virtues
These guiding principles not only prepare us for a significant paradigm shift in how we perceive and embody the Church but also equip us to confidently navigate the evolving landscape of modern-day discipleship.

Life Together.
We’re dedicated to creating spaces for everyone to connect, collaborate, and grow as disciples of Jesus so all faithful individuals flourish in their divine calling.
Whether we meet at a park, in a home, or at a coffee shop, our focus will always be on 3 elements: Worship, Community, and Mission.
-
Through worship, we acknowledge God’s worth. This worship extends throughout the week and involves our whole being — whether in the community, at home, or gathered together. We are the body of Christ, worshipping in word and deed and sent out into the world.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:17
-
The Word of God is central to our spiritual formation as a community. We don’t rely solely on a preacher for instruction when we gather. Instead, with the facilitation of each simple group leader, we dive into Scripture, prayer, and intentional friendship with God and one another. In that, we experience the way of Jesus and the liberating work of the Holy Spirit.
“Faith comes by hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Rom. 10:17
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28: 19-20
-
We’re here to witness and join in God’s redeeming work through Christ. By doing this, we help bring wholeness to the world and express our faith uniquely and creatively. We aim to find our discipleship path to help others discover the gospel.
“Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy.” 1 Peter 2: 9-10
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is CityVine a Church?
We are a church made up of simple groups (or simple church expressions) that gather in homes, businesses, and other third spaces. These groups are linked together under CityVine Church. Our primary objective is to multiply disciples who unite as the church in their local community to share hope, peace, and purpose.
-
Where are you located?
CityVine Church focuses specifically on disciple-makers in the Greater Orlando area. If you're interested in learning more about disciple-making and desire to start a group in your area, whether you are located in Central Florida or not, we are here to help.
-
Do you have a Sunday Service?
We do not meet for a traditional Sunday worship experience. We emphasize that a simple church can meet anywhere and at any time. We are focused on creating space for smaller numbers to gather to do life together authentically and be laser-focused on making disciples of Jesus. However, we host less frequent larger gatherings consisting of multiple simple groups for celebrating, training, and mission opportunities.
-
What does “disciple-making” mean?
Making disciples means walking in Jesus's footsteps, embracing His wisdom, and nurturing future disciples. A disciple is like an apprentice: someone who hears God, lives according to Jesus’ teachings, and shares them with others.
-
Are you affiliated with a denomination?
Yes. We are connected to the Reformed Church in America. To learn more about the RCA, please visit their website at https://www.rca.org/about/.
-
How can I join CityVine Church?
We invite you to join a movement that begins with a relationship and a commitment to being Christ’s disciple. Connect with us to find encouragement and the next steps on that journey.
-
What is a simple group or simple church expression?
They are one-on-one or one-on-few relationships that connect to share in worship, community, and mission. A group doesn’t imply multiple people every time; it's intentional relationships, starting with one person, that share the desire to be the church wherever they go.
-
What does it mean to “embody” the church?
The church is the body of Christ, comprised of the people who have received Christ as Lord and Savior. As the people of God, one way we can embody or be the church is to hear God’s word and put it into practice. (James 1:22)
